National Sales Manager- Oncology, India

National Sales Manager lead the sales for the BU at a national level, create and execute sales strategies, allocate and manage resources, manage distribution networks and monitor team performance and customer feedback to ensure achievement of BU objectives

Our Sales team support our customers by providing clinical information about products, educational information, clinical training programs and resources. We support healthcare providers and healthcare systems meet the goals of the patients in their communities

Key Responsibilities:

Annual National Sales Planning and Operations:

  • Lead the process of planning sales targets for BU sales in the country in coordination with BU head through forecasting sales and revenues, deployment and direct selling expenses, identify new markets and customer segments, develop sales strategies to exploit the opportunities
  • Guide zonal managers to ensure understanding and execute flawlessly
  • Coach zonal managers to manage teams, setting expectations and motivate the team
  • Work in close coordination with marketing team to co-create and coordinate execution plans
  • Establish plans like the Field Coverage Plan, Sales and Prescription Reporting Plans, Sales Incentive Plan etc. , Monitor sales activity through tracking of sales MIS, formulate rolling sales plans to ensure achievement of monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets
  • Monitor stock inventories at hospital /retail pharmacies, monitor product usage patterns, coordinate with Supply Chain and Central Warehouse to prevent stock outs
  • Ensure forecasting accuracy by driving feedback from sales team and with close coordination with marketing team
  • Work closely and collaborate with public markets (key accounts) team to co-create and coordinate execution plans

Implementation of Marketing Strategies:

  • Communicate key marketing strategies to the team and conduct group / individual interactions to check on overall understanding of the marketing strategy by field force.
  • Adapt central strategies to specific needs, meet customers and take direct feedback to ensure that the marketing initiatives reflect regional requirements
  • Monitor implementation of marketing initiatives through maintaining a link between the sales and marketing teams and evaluate effectiveness/ impact of the marketing initiatives.
  • Provide constant input to the marketing team to ensure appropriate customization of marketing initiatives customer to regional realities

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Establish and Develop relationships with key customers by securing customer loyalty and forging strong relationship in order to develop advocates to communicate key messages to the medical community
  • Ensure ZBMs/TBMs establish a strong network with various purchase authorities at institutional customers to ensure achievement of regional sales objectives.

People Management:

  • Participate in the recruitment process, allocate targets, track, monitor, review and guide performance, provide developmental feedback, suggest training programs and facilitate the developmental process for the regional sales team.

Experience Requirements

  • Proven communication skills and cross functional coordination in sales domain
  • 8-10 years of managerial experience within the pharmaceutical industry and sales, (oncology experience preferable)
  • Educational qualifications in Science/Pharma/equivalent
  • Proven experience in articulating data-driven findings to various audience levels and translating these findings into actionable recommendations.
