Job description
Role & responsibilities :
- Correctly dispense medications, as prescribed, by compounding, packaging, and labelling pharmaceuticals
- Manage orders, storage & safekeeping of pharmacy, ensuring adequate supply of medicines at all times.
- Provide relevant & complete information to the patients about the medicines, their side effects, correct dosage, and proper storage; suggest interventions if required.
- Collect payments of sales and deposit the same responsibly. Update patient records/ bills and generate reports as & when required.
- Maintain separate records for specified medicines as per state & central laws.
- Responsibly dispose off expired & damaged drugs from the inventory.
- Ensure pharmacy registration / DL gets renewed timely to prevent cancellation & prepare audit report as required by management.
- Ensure Inspection Book is up-to-date with correct data entries, for external audits & quality inspections.
- Maintain safety, hygiene & adequate temperature in the pharmacy, as per SOPs & regulatory directions.
- Participate in clinical programs & trainings, to enhance pharmacological knowledge of other hospital staff.
- Be respectful, empathetic & composed when dealing with the patients; prevent aggravation &/or conflict.
- Be respectful, ethical & compliant when dealing with any vendors; keeping our values as first priority.
- Participate in emergency drills along with other staff like CPR/fire drills. Participating in quality standards such as NABH or QAI. Familiar with pharmacy compliances under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act and Rules.
- Adequate experience in a pertinent position, preferably in Pharma healthcare domain.
- Adequate knowledge of medications, competitors & related terminology.
- Proficiency in basic medical information systems, used for documentation.
- Deep understanding of latest procurement & supply chain concepts & best practices PO creation, rate contract negotiation, vendor analysis, credit/debit note, etc.
- Experience with creatively seeking out & building relationships with vendors / suppliers
- Strong collaborative ability to sustain relationships across functions and levels to ensure seamless integration & execution of all strategies
- Adequate knowledge of organizational effectiveness & compliance standards & policies
